Wedding Showcase Event ~ Sunday, 28th February 2010

After our very successful last Wedding Showcase, we're doing it again. We'd be delighted if you could join us on Sunday, 28th February, 2010 at any time between 12 noon and 3pm. Come and meet our friendly and professional team, take a tour of the house, gardens, our beautiful bedrooms and event rooms and meet a select number of our preferred suppliers.

Perrier Jouet Competition Winner

Despite the snow and freezing cold weather, our Perrier Jouet Competition has still added a little Christmas Sparkle! Mrs. Elizabeth Jones (on the right) is seen here receiving her prize from Catherine on behalf of Wentbridge - a magnum of Perrier Jouet Champagne. The winner was chosen at random from hundreds of entries. Many thanks to all who entered and a very Happy Christmas!!

Septemer 2009 - We're all delighted to have been put through to the final of Yorkshire Hotel of the Year (under 50 bedrooms) at the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Tourism Awards 2009. This puts us within the top 4 hotels in England's largest county, quite an achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole team. Meeting and exceeding your expectations and offering the best possible service is so important to us and to be recognised in this way is a bonus, especially significant considering that next year is our 50th anniversary!!

April 2009 - Wentbridge House has been elevated to Two AA Rosettes for the quality of its luxury Fleur de Lys Restaurant. The fine dining restaurant has achieved the award with a menu that features a choice of exquisite and delicious dishes. According to the AA, it awards two rosettes to restaurants which "offer higher standards of food and better consistency, and where greater precision is apparent in the cooking and there is obvious attention to the quality and selection of ingredients." We are delighted that the passion of our Head Chef and kitchen team has been recognized and a two-rosette restaurant is a fitting reward for their hard work and commitment.

Head Chef, Steve Turner, has been working towards the accreditation for the last 12 months. He has overseen menu development in the Fleur de Lys Restaurant and given it a strong local flavour.

As one of the County's leading hotels, we have recognized how important the quality and the integrity of the food we offer to our guests has become. Wherever possible, we source from local suppliers and producers to ensure that our food is fresh and delicious, as well as a reflection of our location and region.

Catherine Harrild, Hotel Sales Manager, has also worked very closely with the AA to achieve the award and we are all proud of the continual improvement shown in this area.

We're delighted to announce that Wentbridge House has been awarded a prestigious Fourth Star by both the AA and Visit Britain's Recognition Schemes. We have also retained our Visit Britain Silver Award at Four Star Level, really quite an achievement! The high standards set across the hotel's facilities and services have taken Wentbridge from a three to a four-star rating following an unannounced inspection. To be recognised as a four-star property is also testament to the hard work of all the hotel's staff. We are continually looking at ways to improve both our service and facilities for our guests.

We are pleased to have joined the Deliciouslyorkshire Breakfast scheme. This means that at least 5 ingredients on our breakfast menu are sourced from suppliers based in Yorkshire and Humber or within 5 miles of the county's borders. We're working hard to reduce our food miles and build relationships with the very best local growers and suppliers. This influence will become more apparent throughout the year on both our Restaurant and Brasserie menus.
