Harrogate is a Yorkshire spa town to the south east of the Yorkshire Dales, famous for its tea shops, flower shows, turkish baths, antique shops and the Harrogate International Conference Centre. The town is also famous for its associations with the great english crime novelist Agatha Christie, who 'disappeared' here for a few days in the 1930s.
Harlow Carr is the North's premier botanical garden. The 58-acre RHS garden can be found on the south-western outskirts of Harrogate, and is home to peaceful woodland, meadows, flower gardens and seven historical gardens from the BBC series ‘Gardens Through Time’.
Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal
A World Heritage Site, Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal is a huge estate of beauty, contrasts and surprises including the largest abbey ruins in the country and one of England’s most spectacular Georgian water gardens. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the valley of the river Skell, on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales, only 30 miles from the historic city of York and 9 miles from the A1.
Salts Mill is set in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Saltaire. The Grade II Listed historic mill building was built in 1853 by Sir Titus Salt along with the village to house his workers. The whole area is of architectural and historical interest.

Beautiful historical buildings such as the Sun Pavilion and Colonnades sit alongside a wide variety of outdoor games and a children's play area.

Duncombe Park is one of Yorkshire’s foremost historic houses and estates, and home to the Duncombe family. The house will be closed to the public from 2011, but the gardens remain open to visitors, as does the surrounding parkland, a beautiful and historic landscape on the edge of the picturesque market town of Helmsley, gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
Knaresborough Castle and Museum
A stronghold of Medieval Kings, Knaresborough Castle still stands towering over the River Nidd. A visit to the site includes a tour to discover what Royalty got up to in the King's Tower, get a glimpse of the dungeon and walk through the underground sallyport.
Mother Shipton's Cave and the Petrifying Well
Mother Shipton is England’s most famous Prophetess. She lived some 500 years ago during the reigns of King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. Her Prophetic visions became known and feared throughout England, with many of them still proving uncannily accurate today.
