Lunch with the Yorkshire Shepherdess Thursday 15th October

We’re delighted to welcome Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess, to Wentbridge House for a very special autumn lunch.

Amanda Owen is a shepherdess, mother of nine children, broadcaster and bestselling author. Born in Huddersfield, Amanda is a first-generation farmer, who escaped the city for the rugged landscapes of Ravenseat, a 2000-acre hill farm in North Yorkshire.

The Owen family’s TV series, ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’, captivated over 3 million viewers in the UK and aired in over 20 countries worldwide. In 2023, ‘Amanda Owen’s Farming Lives’ launched on More4 and in October 2024 Amanda’s latest TV adventure, ‘Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids’ became the channel’s highest-rating show of the year, with the fourth series coming to TV screens this coming Autumn.

Amanda is also an accomplished author, penning five Sunday Times bestselling books, whilst she has most recently embarked on a journey into children’s literature. Blending her farming insights with captivating storytelling, ‘Christmas Tales from the Farm’, published late last year, is a collection of festive short stories inspired by the animals that call Ravenseat Farm home. The latest release, Cosy Bedtime Stories from the Farm, was published on 3rd September this year, comprising a collection of ten delightfully soothing bedtime stories for readers aged 6+.

Amanda’s also a hugely popular public speaker, with multiple successful national theatre speaking tours under her belt. With over 800,000 followers on social media, Amanda’s genuine, down-to-earth approach to life in the countryside continues to inspire and connect with a global audience.

Enjoy a three-course lunch, followed by the opportunity to hear from Amanda as she shares stories from her extraordinary life and the inspiration behind her latest book.

Copies of Cosy Bedtime Stories from the Farm will be available to purchase on the day, with book sales supported by Eclipse Books, Bawtry.
